About the event
Mahalo for your interest in volunteering at Nōmilu.
Just a few years ago, this loko iʻa was lined with invasive species, filled with tilapia, and had no clams. Today, native fish, shellfish, and water quality are thriving once again, and that impact is reaching our nearshore reefs. This transformation has only been possible through consistent community care and true laulima.
We’re grateful to welcome the community back for this restoration day following recent weather-related cancellations and continued mālama of the site.
