Loko I'a Community Workday at Nōmilu
Join us for our monthly Loko I'a Community Workday at Nōmilu! Starting this month, we are excited to announce that our workdays will now take place on the second Saturday of each month.
Date: Saturday, July 13th, 2024 Time: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Location: Nōmilu Fishpond
Every month, we gather as a community to restore this historic fishpond by removing invasive plants and rebuilding sections of the walls. This month's workday will focus on both tasks, contributing to the health and sustainability of the surrounding marine ecosystem. We have activities suitable for all ages, from keiki to tutu, so everyone can lend a hand.
Volunteers will meet at the Kauaʻi Coffee Visitor Center (grass parking lot) at 9:30 AM for pick-up and transfer to the pond. The workday will conclude with a return convoy around 2:30-3:00 PM. Snacks and refreshments will be provided throughout the…
