Hanamāʻulu Beach Community Cleanups – Now Monthly in 2026
Hoʻomalu Ke Kai is excited to welcome Hanamāʻulu Beach Community Cleanups as a recurring monthly opportunity beginning in 2026, in partnership with Nā Kamaliʻi o Hanamaʻulu.
These cleanups take place every 3rd Sunday from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM, creating consistent opportunities for families, keiki, and community members to care for this special shoreline together.
These workdays focus on removing marine debris, learning about the connection between land-based actions and reef health, and strengthening community stewardship through hands-on action. What happens on land at Hanamāʻulu directly affects the health of the bay and its nearshore ecosystems.
This work is closely connected to Hoʻomalu Ke Kai’s coral restoration efforts. Hanamāʻulu Bay — including Ahukini Landing on the southeast corner of the bay — is where our corals of opportunity are collected, making shoreline care a critical part of protecting and restoring reef ecosystems. From…
