We're heading back to Nukoliʻi after last weekend’s King Tides left behind piles of ghost nets and debris deep in the high tide line. 1,000+ lbs removed last weekend—what will we find this time? Come lend a hand and be part of the solution.

About the event

3rd Saturday Sunrise Cleanup – Part II at Nukoliʻi BeachSaturday, July 26 | 8am–10am

Nukoliʻi Beach is calling us back. After last weekend’s cleanup, we’re returning to tackle what the King Tides left behind—marine debris and ghost nets pushed high into the backshore that still need removing.

Last Saturday, with a crew of 15 volunteers and just a few hours of effort, we pulled over 1,000 pounds of derelict fishing gear and ocean plastics off the beach. The scale of what we found was intense—but not surprising. This coast continues to collect marine debris from across the Pacific, and the King Tides only make it more visible.

So we’re going back for round two—and we need your help.

These cleanups are often surprising and even a little surreal: you’ll find everything from childhood plastic army men to enough toothbrushes to last a lifetime. Items we once thought we threw “away”…
