About the event
Give Back to the Ocean – One Step at a Time
Looking for a meaningful way to spend your Saturday morning? Come join Hoʻomalu Ke Kai for our Last Saturday of the Month Coastal Cleanup on Saturday, June 28th from 10am–12pm at the iconic Ninini Lighthouse on Kauaʻi’s southeast shore.
This isn’t your average beach cleanup — it’s an adventure along a rugged coastline that’s become a known hotspot for marine debris. We'll be setting up a base camp near the lighthouse and heading out together to tackle a stretch of rocky shoreline that needs some serious aloha.
Why this matters:Marine debris doesn’t just look bad — it harms wildlife, damages reefs, and threatens our ocean’s health. By helping remove plastics, ropes, nets, and other debris, you're playing an important role in protecting our island’s marine ecosystems and the species that call them home.
What to bring:
Reusable water bottle
