Nōmilu Loko Iʻa Workdays Resume | Final Stretch of Pickleweed Removal + Next Phase Begins
Aloha kākou,
We’re excited to share that our 2nd Saturday community workdays at Nōmilu Loko Iʻa are back, and this space continues to transform through the collective effort of our community.
Over the past years, this loko iʻa has undergone an incredible restoration—from a system once dominated by invasive species and poor water quality to a thriving habitat where native fish, shellfish, and ecological function are returning. This progress is a direct result of consistent mālama ʻāina and true laulima.
As we return to regular workdays, we’re entering an important milestone:
We are now in the final ~200 feet of pickleweed removal along the loko perimeter.
