Community Restoration Day at Nōmilu – Saturday, November 8th
We invite you to join us for another day of community restoration at Nōmilu Fishpond, one of Kauaʻi’s most storied and sacred places. Nestled within an ancient volcanic crater said to have been formed by the goddess Pele, Nōmilu is a wahi pana where land and sea are bound together — and where generations have sustained both community and abundance.
Through our collective efforts, the restoration of Nōmilu continues to grow. Together with ʻOnomilu, the cultural and educational nonprofit stewarding the pond, and Kauaʻi Sea Farm, we’re working to restore balance to this living system by removing invasive vegetation, reopening the ʻauwai (channels), reinforcing the kuapā (fishpond walls), and planting native species like ʻakulikuli to protect the shoreline and support healthy ecosystems.
