About the event
This Saturday, May 10th, we invite you to join a special Community Restoration Day at Nōmilu Loko Iʻa — held the day before Mother’s Day. These monthly workdays are a vital part of our ongoing effort to restore this wahi pana, and we’re continuing our work to clear invasive vegetation and repair the ʻauwai that help feed the fishpond. We welcome participants of all ages and abilities, and close the day with a potluck-style lunch, locally sourced refreshments, and time to connect. In honor of Mother’s Day, we’ll have a little surprise for all the moms who attend :)
What to Expect:
Hands-on restoration work to help restore and maintain the loko iʻ
A chance to learn about the cultural and ecological significance of the fishpond
Connecting with community members and caretakers who share a deep love for this place
